To ensure a proper fit for every individual, OSHA mandates fit testing for all types of respirators, including disposable half-mask and full-face respirators, as well as tight-fitting supplied air face pieces. These tests can be conducted using an approved fit test kits, including this kit. Qualitative fit testing is the method employed, which entails introducing harmless, odorous, or irritating substances (such as smoke, saccharin, or Bitrex) into the breathing zone near the worn respirator. If no odor or irritation is detected, it indicates a well-fitted respirator.
